It is time for another mayor/county commission
meeting.
The meetings are held on a quarterly basis, said Neil
Cook, commission chairman.
"There are several topics that I think the county
commission should receive input from the mayors on," said
Cook.
Among those, he said, were possible uses for Community
Development Block Grant funds for things that could be of
benefit to low and moderate income people who live in the
county.
"One important discussion needs to be about the way we
could fund economic development," said Cook.
As of July, he said, the way the funding which had
been used to pay for one-half of the costs of the department
would no longer be available.
"The funds must be used in a couple of different
ways," said Neil Cook, commission chairman.
He said the mayors of communities in the county may
have some good ideas on how to handle funding.
Another topic of discussion, he said, would be the
county and recreation.
Mayors and Cook, who is the commissioner who meets
with the mayors, will discuss the recreation district
proposal.
Mayors also will list items to be discussed.
Cooks asked commissioners for items they thought they
might like to add.
"If you have anything else you think we should talk
about," Cook said, "let me know."
