Quentin Stephenson
Quentin F. Stephenson, age 78, passed away May 15, 2001,
in Levan, Utah.
He was born Nov. 18, 1922, in Levan to Fred and Abbie
Christensen Stephenson. He married Blanche LaRue Francom on
Oct. 11, 1946, in Nephi, Utah. Their marriage was later
solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She passed away Sept.
13, 2000.
Quentin was an active member of the LDS Church, where he
served in many positions. He worked on construction as a
heavy equipment operator. He was an avid BYU basketball and
football fan. He was a member of the Northern Rocky Mountain
Barb Wire Collectors Association. He enjoyed collecting
different styles of barb wire.
He is survived by two sons and three daughters, Terry (
Cheryl) Stephenson, Randy Stephenson, Jill (Kim) Jarrett,
all of Levan, LuAnn (Randy) Hanks of Payson, and Jolene
(Brent) Campbell of Nephi; 14 grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Melba
(Pete) Ballow of Levan, Anna Mae (Russ) Downey of
Springville, Devon (Glenna) Stephenson of Moroni, and Merlin
(Marlene) Stephenson of Taylorsville. He was preceded in
death by his wife, parents, and two sisters, Fonda Hansen
and Theo Gee.
Funeral services were held May 19, 2001, in the Levan LDS
Chapel. Burial in the Levan Cemetery.
Vance Christensen
Vance Royce Christensen, son of James and Vera Mangelson
Christensen, passed away May 13, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was born May 16, 1935, in Levan, Utah. He married Kathy
Jensen. They were later divorced. He married Sharon
Santoro.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Las Vegas; sons,
Steven (Tracy) Christensen of Georgia, and Ryan Christensen
of Ohio; 2 grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Lorraine) of
California, Wesley (Nola) of Nephi, Homer (Delora) of Mona,
Ross (Duretta) of Oregon, and Von (Carolyn) of Salt Lake
City. A sister, Elaine Mower, is deceased.
Memorial services will be held June 30 at 12:00 noon at
the Levan Cemetery.
Beverly Smith
Beverly Irene Smith passed away on Apr. 30, 2001, in
Nephi,Utah. She was 58 years old. She was born Oct. 16,
1942, to Lyle and Ruby Swinton of Mitchell County, Kansas.
She was the youngest of four children. She graduated from
Mankato, Kansas, in 1960. She married Larry D. Smith Mar.
14, 1964.
Beverly worked all her life on the farm, and then went to
beauty school. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and homemade
candy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years; her
father; step-father, Owen Clark; a brother, Donald Swinton;
and sister, Wanda Bohnert.
She is survived by her mother, Ruby Clark; sister,
Shirley Carlton of Wichita Falls, Texas; children, Tracey
(John) Henderson of Nephi, and Troy (Marcia) Smith of
Layton; and 3 grandchildren.
