Funerals
JASON L.
OLSEN
Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. Saturday, May 5,
2001 in the Nephi 1st Ward, 222 South 100 East. Friends may
call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral
Home, 94 West 300 North and at the church one hour prior to
services. Burial will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi,
Utah.

Wendell Olsen
Wendell D. Olsen, age 69, of Fountain Green, passed away
Apr. 28, 2001, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. The
youngest of five children he was born Sept. 9, 1931, in
Fountain Green, Utah, to Lawrence and Mabel Olsen. He
married Bonnie Cowan in Nephi, Utah, on Mar. 21, 1952. Their
marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Wendell was a lifetime resident of Fountain Green. He
loved the outdoors. He served in the U.S. Army in active
combat during the Korean War.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Cindy
(Lester) Anderson, and Carole Carter, all of Fountain Green,
James W. Olsen of Salt Lake, and Ann Robins of Logan; 10
grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson; brother and sisters,
Valera Peterson, and Camille (Nevert) Stevens, all of
Moroni, Maxine Draper of Magna, and Jay (Marva) Olsen of
Fountain Green.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at 12
noon at the Fountain Green City Cemetery with Military
Honors provided by the American Legion Post #107 of Moroni.
Jack Nyland
TSGT Jack Leander Nyland, age 73, died Apr. 20, 2001, in
Orem, Utah. He was born Mar. 7, 1928, in Grand Junction,
Colorado, to Andrew and Anna Myland. He married Barbara J.
Millett Aug. 1, 1953. She died in July of 1991.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 24 years. He
served in Vietnam in 1968.
He is survived by 3 children, Audrey (Cindy) Sanders of
Valejo, California, Barbara J. Nyland of Grover City,
California, and Jack L. Nyland Jr.; 6 grandchildren; 3
great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert Nyland of Ogden, and
James Tramel; 2 sisters, Louise Berry of San Leandro,
California, and Ann Nyland; step-mother, Juanita Tramel.
Graveside services were held Apr. 25, 2001 at Veterans
Memorial Park, Camp Williams.
