GROUND BREAKING A ground breaking
ceremony was held Monday to start construction
of the expansion of the Mona Elementary School.
Those turning dirt were, left to right,
Superintendent Kirk Wright; District Maintenance
Coordinator Adrian Villar; Mona Principle Norman
Wall; Architect Ross Wentworth; Board Business
Official Darin Clark; Architect Gary Brusche;
Board President Delanie Hathaway; Board Member
Cheryl Kay; Mona Students Madeline Williams and
Kayleb Squire; Mona Teachers Mary Wohlforth and
Laralee Deschamps; Nila Keyte, Mona Secretary.
The expansion will provide 9 additional
classrooms, breakout rooms, leveled library,
computer lab, kiva, expanded library,
multi-purpose room and a teacher workroom. Cost
for the expansion is estimated at $2.5 million
dollars and is scheduled for completion in
September. General contractor is Westland
Construction of Salem, Utah.
