A ground breaking ceremony is planned for the new
addition to the Mona Elementary school.
The ceremony will be held Monday, April 9, at 10:30
a.m. at the school on the site of the new addition.
"We plan to start construction soon after the ground
breaking ceremony," said Superintendent of Juab School
District Kirk Wright.
He said that the school will be a welcome and needed
addition to the school which has been experiencing a great
deal of growth because of the many subdivisions and new
homes in Mona.
"This is the first of the building projects the
district is undertaking," said Wright. "It looks like things
are moving right along and we are pleased about the
progress."
Juab School District received the lowest possible bond
interest rate at 3.98 percent on newly issued bonds which
made the money available on April 3.
Because of the bonds, the district will be able to
begin building on the Mona Elementary project right away is
getting close to the ground breaking for the Red Cliffs
project.
Wells Fargo Brokerage, offered the best interest rate,
however, most were within the 4.00 percent range.
