Erma Crawforth

Erma Sidwell Keyte Crawforth, age 94, died peacefully at the Canyon View Care Center after a short illness. She was born May 2, 1909 in Eureka, Utah, to Elsie Nielsen and Gideon Sidwell. She moved to Nephi in 1912. She married Lauren Keyte July 27, 1927. They resided on the Mona 7K Ranch for 56 years. Lauren died Jan. 4,1982. She married Boyd Crawforth in 1986.

Erma filled many needs in Mona ward organizations. Her skills in teaching the youth kept her in demand. She served in the Relief Society, and DUP. She was a Fair Board member 20 years and helped in many Mona celebrations and reunions.

She is survived by husband, Boyd; children Marjorie (Merrill) Newren, Carol (Larry) Lange; step-daughter, Iris Potter; 26 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 26, 2004 at the Anderson Funeral Home, Nephi, Utah. Interment in the Mona City Cemetery, Mona, Utah.


Therle Ostler

Therle George Ostler, age 84, passed away April 21, 2004 at the Dixie Medical Center, St. George, Utah, of complications following hip surgery.

He was born June 26, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to George Henry and Luella Blackett Ostler. He married Florence Allen September 19, 1940 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died Oct. 26, 1998.

Therle grew up in Nephi, Utah, and graduated from Juab High School. He had various jobs, but mainly farmed in Nephi. In 1963, he and Florence moved to Provo where they owned and operated Granny's Kitchen for 18 years. They then worked as cooks at the Alcoholic Recovery Center in Provo until retiring in 1988. They moved to St. George in 1996. Therle loved to hunt and fish. They loved their boat and spending weekends at Strawberry Reservoir.

He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn (Larry) Iverson of St. George; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Alan Ostler of Bountiful; sister-in-law, Claudia Ostler of Nephi. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, William L. Ostler and brother, Clark Ostler.

Funeral services were held April 24, 2004 at the Anderson Funeral Home, Nephi. Interment in the Nephi City Cemetery.
