Kate Beard
Kate Ripley Beard, age 91, passed away April 2, 2003
in West Jordan, Utah.
She was born Nov. 6, 1911 in Gomersal Yorkshire
England to James William and Alice Scaife Ripley. She
married Wilford Woodrow Beard in the Manti LDS Temple June
22, 1952. He passed away in August of 1986.
She loved to sing and lead music.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruth (Morris) Hodson
of Riverton; 3 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held April 7, 2003 in the
Levan Cemetery, Levan, Utah.
Earl Beck
Earl J Beck, age 87, of Spring City passed away Thursday,
April 3, 2003. He was born Nov. 12, 1915 in Chester, Utah,
to Ishmael and Clara Justesen Beck. He married Ilena Edmunds
on Dec. 22, 1939 in Wales, Utah.
Earl was employed at the Moroni Processing Plant for
40 years. He was a farmer and sheep rancher. He enjoyed
hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Earl is survived by his children, Anna Marie (Tom)
Memmott of Nephi, Clara Louise Green of Spring City, and
David Earl (Linda) Beck of Mt. Pleasant; 2 grandsons, 2
granddaughters, 4 great-grandsons. He was preceded in death
by his wife and brothers Russel, Allen, Clayton, and Lyman
Beck.
Funeral services were held April 8, 2003 at the Spring
City LDS Chapel. Interment in the Spring City Cemetery.
Rodney Rowe
Rodney Loren Rowe, age 66, of Spanish Fork, Utah, died
April 6, 2003. He was born April 5, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant,
Utah, to Rodney Lucius and Vinetta Christensen Rowe. He
married Donna Lee Kurey, later divorced. Married Frances
Lujan, later divorced. Married Ellen Irving Allred Nov. 26,
1994 in Spanish Fork.
He worked as a carpenter most of his life and served
Mt. Pleasant City for 10 years. He served 20 years in
the
Sanpete County Search and Rescue. He loved to create with
his hands. He Loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Louise Irving Allred
Rowe of Spanish Fork; children, Debra Lynn Martens of
Belton, Missouri, Lorna Mary (David) Beck of Mt. Pleasant,
LouAnn (James) Poulson of Mt. Pleasant, Lois Helena (Bob)
Shepherd of Nephi, Lewis Edgel Allred of Spanish Fork, Scott
Howard (Joey) Allred of Moab, and Thomas Irving (Kellie)
Allred of Mt. Pleasant, 17 grandchildren; 1
great-grandchild; sisters, Eudora (Kent) Nielson of Long
Beach, California, Aleene (Marcus) Olpin of Nephi, Rita
(George) Christensen of Ogden, Rodney Jean Lijardi of
Gooding, Idaho. Preceded in death by parents, sisters, Baby
Rowe, Betty Allred.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2003
in the Mt. Pleasant 4th Ward, 49 South State, at 11:00 a.m.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at
Magleby-Rasmussen Mortuary, 96 North 100 West, and Thursday
from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment in the Mt.
Pleasant Cemetery.
