Theodore Pendleton Smith
October 21, 1930-March 21, 2013


Theodore Pendleton Smith, 82, passed away peacefully in Nephi, Utah on March 21, 2013, surrounded by loved ones. Ted was born in Sugar Creek, Missouri on October 21, 1930 to Gladys Ethel Pendleton and Calvin Caldwell Smith.
Ted's childhood was spent in Texas City, Texas where he competed in all types of sports. He attended North Texas State Teacher's College, receiving a track scholarship as a high hurdler. In 1951, Ted married Charlene Parmely. Together they had two daughters, Cindy and Vickie, but divorced in 1958. Ted then married Rae Maurice "Ooky" O'Callaghan with whom he had one daughter, Lisa, and her three children, Glyn, Judy, and Mike. They later divorced. In 1968, Ted joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His new faith gave him a deep love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, and a strong desire to serve others which remained throughout his life. In 1974, Ted married Carol Jean White in the LDS Salt Lake Temple, and adopted her daughters, Geri and Michele. He loved his five daughters dearly.
Ted worked for Monsanto, though he worked at many different jobs over the years including teaching, coaching, sports officiating, shrimping, and surveying. At age 45, Ted retired early from Monsanto and entered Chiropractic college. In 1985, Ted moved to Mena, Arkansas and opened West Arkansas Chiropractic Center where he was affectionately known as "Dr. Ted". He loved helping others, and spent countless hours in church and community service. Ted loved his farm, and particularly enjoyed working on and flying small aircraft with his friend, Mick Nelson. During Ted's final months, he and Carol moved to Mona, Utah and lived with his daughter Lisa's family where they cared for him as he struggled with the effects of Alzheimer's.
Ted is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carol Jean White Smith, and five daughters: Cindy Clenney and Vickie Bannister of Bradenton, Florida; Lisa (Rick) Nuñez of Mona, Utah; Geri (Brad) Clements of Cedar Hills, Utah; and Michele Peterson of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Joyce) Smith of Texas City, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 23, in Mona, Utah. Internment is in the Mona City Cemetery.


Clinton Harry Kinsman
01/21/1943 - 03/24/2013


Clinton Harry Kinsman passed away March 24, 2013 surrounded by his family at Sanpete Valley Hospital after battling a long-term illness.  He was born January 21, 1943 in Salt Lake City to Ezra Lucius and Violet Viva Sanders Kinsman.  Married Thelma Sharlene Sullivan February 6, 1964 in Elko, Nevada.
Preceded in death by his parents, two infant children Deborah Lynne and Larry Neil; brothers George LeRoy, Eugene Lamar, Daniel Lester I.
Survived by his wife T. Sharlene, daughter Peggyann (Brent) Olson, son LeRoy Eugene (Melissa) Kinsman, granddaughter Ashley Louise Olson, brother Donald Joseph (Ada) Kinsman, sister Susan (Leonard) Druce.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery (10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, UT).  Viewing will be held Friday preceding graveside services at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W Mt. Pleasant, UT) from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.


Vickie Jean Hansen
1973~2013


Vickie Jean Thomas Hansen passed away March 16, 2013 at her home in Spring Creek, Nevada.
She was born March 3, 1973 in New Jersey to Diane Gayle Heath and Douglas George Thomas. She married Sheldon Pass and together they had two children, Cody and Cassie. They later divorced. She married Jaylynn Hansen and together they have three children, Kelsie, Jayson, and Jaylie. She also has three step-children, Tessa, Hope, and Pierce.
Vickie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children. She was a very devoted mother. She liked to scrapbook, working in her garden, and enjoyed her music and photography. She enjoyed watching football and rooting for her favorite team, the 49ers.
She is survived by her husband, Jaylynn Hansen; her five children and three step-children; brothers, Nate Leavitt, Jace Thomas, Terry Lynn Thomas, and Jeremey Thomas; sisters, Tammy Pass, Tonya Rigby, Marsha Thomas, Shallon Thomas, and Rainy Lynn Thomas; grandmother, Lois Thomas and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North Nephi, Utah. Interment will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.


Nelda Garrett
1938~2013


Nelda Emma McPherson Garrett, age74, passed away March 22, 2013 in Nephi, Utah.
She was born June 5, 1938 in Nephi, Utah to George Eugene and Velva Dalley McPherson . She Married Byron Delos (Dee) Garrett.
She attended school in Nephi.
Survived by her husband Dee; children, Bart and Jackie Reynold, Wes and Patty Reynolds, Cindy Reynolds, Cody and Karen Reynolds, Wendy and Sheldon Winder; step-children, Launa and Ernie Gonzales, Debbie and Marvin Morse, Chris Smith, Pat Garrett; 32 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry McPherson and sister, Nancy Oppenheimer. Preceded in death by grandsons, Cameron Dimmic and Scott Reynolds; step-son Steve Garrett; brother Heber Lee Buster McPherson.
A viewing was held from 10:30-11:30 am Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North Nephi, UT. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.


Bill Clark
1951-2013


Bill R. Clark, 61, of Peoria passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born June 22, 1951, to Lauren and Shirley Weinstein Clark. He married Rebecca "Beckie" K. Cooley on April 18, 1982, in Pekin.
She survives, along with his father, Lauren (Linda) Clark of Nephi, Utah; children, Kindra (Roy) Dellaripa of Utah, Byron Beck of Utah, Amanda (Sylvester) Evans of Peoria, Aaron (Desiree) Beck of Utah and Rachel (Randy) Morrow of Pekin; grandchildren, Braden, Bryson, Kimberly, Dustin, Matt, Alicia, Jessica, Brierly, Cruz and Allison; sisters, Shirley Ann Clark of Utah and Julie (Tim) Murphy of New York; brothers, Lauren (Nicole) Clark of Utah, Warren (Kendra) Clark of Utah, Kimn Piep of Utah, Kyle Piep of Utah, Kris Piep of Utah and Kory (Imelda) Piep of Utah; sister-in-law, Debbie Cooley of Florida; brother-in-law, Ron (Linda) Cooley of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grandpuppies, Gloria and Bella.
He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Karl Piep.
Bill worked for the Illinois Secretary of State Office as a program compliance specialist for 12 1/2 years.
He was a member of Pekin First Church of the Nazarene, where he was in choir and involved with Encounter.
He loved watching his grandchildren and riding his Harley. He enjoyed NASCAR, football and cooking.
He was a former trustee of Groveland Township.
Bill was an organ donor.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 22, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 3514 E. Broadway, Pekin, IL 61554, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Floyd Brock officiated. Cremation will be accorded following the services.
The family has entrusted Abts Mortuary in Pekin with arrangements.

Myra Hiatt Lazenby Butler
1921 ~ 2013


Myra Hiatt Lazenby Butler, 91, of Payson, Utah, passed away March 22, 2013, in Nephi, Utah.
Myra was born September 19, 1921, in Payson, Utah to James Lafatte Hiatt and Ruby Kerr.  She married John Thomas (Jay) Lazenby on June 6, 1938. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Together they had four children: Colleen, Larry, Darlene, and Kevin. She later married Wesley Dale Butler.
Myra is survived by: her children Colleen (Jack) Ingram, Nephi, Ut; Kevin (Jamie) Lazenby, Heber, Ut.; daughter-in-law Ann Lazenby, Payson, Ut.; 16 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren and 4 on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both her spouses, two brothers; three sisters; two children: Darlene Lazenby Leonard Cooper; Larry J. Lazenby; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29 ,2013,  at 11 am in the Payson 15th Ward Chapel, 650 West 800 South, Payson, Utah.
Friends may call on the family Thursday, March 28, 2013,  from 6 - 8 pm. at the Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah, and from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
