Evan Bryan
1918-2006
Evan W. Bryan, 87, passed away unexpectedly March 17,
2006 from complications following surgery, surrounded by his
loving wife and family. He quietly departed this life to be
reunited with his parents and five brothers.
Evan was born August 25, 1918 in St. Anthony, Idaho,
the third child born to Frank Willis and Elizabeth Jane
(Jenny) Stephensen Bryan. He was raised and attended schools
in Nephi.
He married his sweetheart, Reva Margaret Shephard, on
August 28, 1940 in Nephi, Utah. The first 3 years of their
marriage were spent in San Diego where Evan worked for
Consolidated Aircraft and their first child, Pat, was born.
They returned to Utah, making their home in Mona, where
their son Ron was born. Evan worked briefly for the Dept. of
Transportation and spent over thirty years with US
Steel-Geneva until his retirement. He enjoyed his life in
Mona working and raising a family, and making many friends.
He could often be seen working outside creating one the
prettiest yards in Mona. Evan was a man of quiet dignity. He
sought no praise or acknowledgement, but was always there
with loving support and help whenever needed. No one worked
harder or sincerely gave his all to a task more than Evan.
He was the last to ask for help himself, but the first to
offer it to others. His work ethic and integrity are the
