The 2005 Miss Nephi Scholarship Pageant will be held on Tuesday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Junior High Auditorium. Six contestants will be judged in evening gown, casual wear, talent, interview, and on-stage question. Danielle Reading is the daughter of Kevin and Sabrina Bright, and Mike and Charlotte Reading. She will be performing "Waterfall" on the piano. Jade Ellison is the daughter of Joe and Wendy Ellison. She will be performing a ballroom dance for her talent. Her community involvement included painting at Heritage Hills, 40 hours volunteering at Central Valley Medical Center, and tutoring at Nephi Elementary. Lindsay Hart is the daughter of Steve and Kathy Hart. She will perform a vocal solo, "On My Own" from Les Meserables. For community involvement, she conducted a tsunami relief project to provide aid for victims. Whitney Shepherd is the daughter of Russell and Melanie Shepherd. She will be performing a jazz dance. Corrie Winn is the daughter of Mark and JoAnn Winn. She will perform a jazz dance to "Rock the Kabash." For community involvement, she conducted a food drive for a local family while their father was serving in Iraq. She also provided free hair styling for older women in the St. George area to help boost their self-image. Malaree Park is the daughter of Marlin and Denise Park. She will be playing a piano piece entitled "Caccia." For her community involvement, she conducted a fingerprinting project at Nephi Elementary to encourage safety for students. The new Miss Nephi and her Attendants will represent Nephi in various parades and celebrations around the State. They will also be featured in a number of events in the community. |
