Nephi City is now advertising for bids on the next
phase of construction at the airport.
In addition, bids are being advertised for the
construction of a new city animal shelter.
"This phase of the airport construction will include
the building of the first 5,500 feet of runway," said Randy
McKnight, city administrator.
In addition, the bid will call for construction of the
new taxiway, the installation of runway and taxiway lighting
and signing.
The runway drainage collection syst3em will also be
part of the project bid.
"Bids are due on March 4," said McKnight.
He said that the plans and specifications had been
made available and could be obtained from the project
engineer.
The airport is being enlarged and improved in
phases.
"This phase will be completed this coming summer,"
said McKnight.
The animals shelter request for bids is also currently
being published.
"Plans are being finalized for the construction of the
new animal shelter," said McKnight. "That is something we
have been working on for some time."
