On Feb. 25, 2004 the Juab County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported burglary in Mona. Deputy Jeff Hansen, Chief Deputy Jim Stephensen and Sheriff Alden Orme responded to the residence. The residence was unlawfully entered and some prescription. pain medications were taken. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 36-year old female. It appeared that the medications were taken with the intent,to sell. The female was transported to the Juab County Jail, where she was charged with burglary, theft and attempted distribution of a controlled substance

The Sheriff would like. to remind and caution the residents of Juab County to place their medications in a safe place, and to discard old and unused medications. We are seeing an increase in prescription drug abuse in our county. We would like to ask for the help of all the citizens of the county in combating this problem.
