Zola Henriod
Zola Blackham Henriod, age 85, passed away in her home
March 10, 2003. She was born Dec. 5, 1917 to Alfonzo
Blackham and Helena Olsen Blackham in Moroni, Utah. She
married Lou Henriod Jan. 22, 1935 in Nephi, Utah. Their
marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple March
7, 1939. Her father died when she was very young, her mother
married Peter P. Hansen.
Zola was one of the first women hired by the Salt Lake
Police Department. She was hired as a Meter Reader and was
sworn in as an official police officer on July 12, 1974 she
retired Aug. 1, 1974. She joined the Daughters of the Utah
Pioneers in 1975 she held many positions. Lou and Zola
served a 2-year mission for the LDS Church in Leeds, England
in 1984. She loved to travel.
She is survived by her son Gale Bruce (Carrie)
Henriod; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her husband Lou, parents, sister Rae
Dennis Talbot, brother Delice Blackham and one step-grandson
Michael R Baugh.
Graveside services were held March 15, 2003 in the
Moroni City Cemetery.
Perry Allred
Perry Earl Allred, age 95, passed away March 12, 2003 at
his home in Nephi, Utah.
He was born Oct. 18, 1907 in Fountain Green, Utah, to
Andrew Hyrum and Filanda Rebecca Guymon Allred. He married
Hazel Lund in 1928 in Manti, Utah. She died in 1978. He
married Faye Malmgren in 1980.
He loved to ride horses, had a good team of horses and
made a living with them.
He is survived by his wife Faye of Nephi; six
children, Edice (Von) Allred of Provo, James Earl (Lueine)
Allred of Ely, Nevada, Neal Allred of Apple Valley, Gayle
(Carolyn) Allred of Tooele, Susan (Shirl) Jackman of
Mapleton, Robert G. (Jan) of Nephi; step-children, Donna
(Ted) Jones, Sharleen (Glen) Jarrett, Ed (Carlene) Malmgren,
Beverly (Delmar) Howlett, Renae (Ed) Hicks; 17
grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 16
great-great-grandchildren;. Preceded in by brothers, Frank,
Merrill and Glen; sisters, Florence and Reba; one grand
child, Danny.
Funeral services were held March 17, 2003 in the Nephi
Stake Center. Interment in the Fountain Green Cemetery.
Jerry Richins
Jerry George Richins, age 59, passed away March 10, 2003
in the Central Utah Valley Medical Center in Nephi, Utah. He
was born April 4, 1943 to Lucille and Farrell Richins in
Coalville, Utah. He graduated from North Sanpete High School
and then joined the Utah National Guard. Jerry then served
in the U.S. Army in Germany and Vietnam.
He is survived by his father; 2 daughters, Shelia
Davie of Salt Lake City, and Annie Hatt of Salina; son, Paul
Richins of Idaho; 8 step-children; and 10 grandchildren;
sister, Erma Jean (Gary) Greenhalgh of Nephi. He was
preceded in death by his mother, daughter, and brother.
Graveside services were held March 13, 2003 in the
Moroni City Cemetery.
