Zelda McPherson
Zelda Luella Kay McPherson, age 92, passed away March 21,
2002 at her home in Nephi, Utah.
She was born Nov. 30, 1909, in Mona, Utah, to Ruben
and Ina Young Kay. She married Merle McPherson June 15,
1933. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS
Temple Feb. 7, 1935.
She was a member of LDS Church. She was educated in
Mona and Nephi and graduated from Brigham Young University
with a teaching degree. She taught school in Mona. After
marrying Merle she joined him in operating the ranch,
farming and raising cattle. They were honored by the state
of Utah as a "Century Farm and Ranch Honoree."
She is survived by three sons and three daughters,
Neil (Andi) McPherson of Mission Hills, California, Gordon
(Karen) McPherson, Bert (Sanoma) McPherson, all of Nephi,
Iona Kay Hair and Carol (James) Young, all of Auburn,
California, Diane (Johnny) Backer of Elk Grove, California;
11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by four brothers, Lynn, Ralph, Joe, and
Hugh Kay.
Funeral services were held Mar. 25, 2002, in the Nephi
North Stake Center. Interment in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi,
Utah.
Ralph Boswell
Ralph Owen Boswell, age 80, passed away March 21,2002, at
his home in Nephi, Utah.
He was born Nov. 21, 1921, in Nephi to Owen Verno and
Ruby Olive Ingram Boswell. He married Bernice Belliston Nov.
21, 1945, in the Manti LDS Temple.
He is survived by his wife Bernice; children, Clifford
(Patsy) Boswell, Brenda (Alan) Niederhauser, Marrian (Clark)
Wood, Brent (Trish) Boswell, Emily (Richard) Christopher; 10
grandchildren.
Graveside services were held March 25, 2002, at Vine
Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
Garrett Wilson
Garrett Blake Wilson, age 14, of Payson died Friday, Mar.
22, 2002.
He was born July 22, 1987, in Payson, Utah, a son of
John Ray Wilson and Spring Racquell Valerio Banks.
Garrett was a student at Payson Junior High School. He
loved motorcycles, ATV's, and snowmobiles. He loved hunting
and fishing. He loved animals and was an experienced
horseman.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Spring
(Ray) Banks of Spanish Fork; father and step-mother, John
(Melissa) Wilson, of Payson; three sisters and four
brothers, Andrea (Mike) Brooks of Springville, Lacey Banks
of Santaquin, Krysten Valerio, Hayden Banks, Clay Banks, all
of Spanish Fork, Stetson Wilson, Colton Wilson, both of
Payson; grandparents, Tony and Carla Valerio, Phyllis
Wilson, all of Santaquin, Colleen Bagley of Spanish Fork,
Stephen Bagley of Provo, Marlene Banks of Spanish Fork;
great-grandparents, Duby Valerio of Santaquin; Harold and
Florene Jensen of Gunnison, Morene Lowery of Springville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kurtis Banks;
grandparents, Fred Banks; great-grandparents, Robert Wilson,
Carl and Florence Rasmussen, Christino Valerio, and Charles
Lowery.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Mar. 27, 2002,
1:00 p.m. in the Spring Lake 1st Ward Chapel, 12625 Spring
Lake Road, where friends may call 11:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
Burial will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery under the
direction of Walker Mortuary, in Payson.
