Marie Christison Butler
Marie Christison Butler, age 85, passed away peacefully
Tuesday evening February 27, 2001 in Nephi, Utah.
She was born June 20, 1915 in Nephi, Utah. She was the
10th child of Parley Pratt and Harriet Adams Christison. She
married Vernon A. Butler December 24, 1936. Their marriage
was later solemnized in the Manti Temple June 23, 1962. He
passed away November 19, 1987.
Marie has blessed the lives of many with her loving,
friendly personality. She was always concerned about the
welfare of others and understood well the meaning of
unselfish love. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and
served faithfully in many ward callings. She was very proud
to be a descendant of native Utah pioneers and was a member
of the Fort Wall Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She was also active in the American Legion auxiliary in
Nephi. For many years she was an employee of Juab School
District in the lunch room.
She is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law,
Stephen and Verna B. Boswell of Nephi; four dearly beloved
grandchildren and nineteen great grand children. She was
preceded in death by, parents, nine brothers and sisters and
one grand son.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, March
3, 2001 in the Nephi 2nd Ward, 222 South 100 East. Friends
may call at the church from 10-11:45 am prior to the
services. Burial will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery Nephi,
Utah.
