Fred Wilkey
Fred Melvin Wilkey, age 79, passed away March 26,
2000, in Nephi, Utah.
He was born Nov. 20, 1920, in Nephi to George and
Georgina Ostler Wilkey. He married Helen Christiansen
Oct. 25, 1939, in the Manti LDS Temple. She died Oct. 17,
1999.
He was an active member of the LDS Church, holding
various positions, including home teacher. He had his own
trucking business most of his married life and was a
retiree of the rubber plant. He loved the outdoors,
camping, fishing, and hunting.
He is survived by his children, Melvin (Dianne)
Wilkey, and Scott (Tami) Wilkey, all of Salt Lake City,
Kaye (Ron) Sperry of Midvale, Verl (Kaye) Wilkey, Darlene
(Craig) Pew, and Ricky Wilkey, all of Nephi, Pamela
(Brent) Jackman of Levan, and David (Teri) Wilkey of
Evanston, Wyoming; 36 grandchildren; 41
great-grandchildren; and extended children, Marilyn
Hamblin of Clearfield, and Rulon (Barbara) Wilkey of Salt
Lake City. He was preceded in death by son, Errol;
grandchildren, Melissa, Jared, and Casey; four brothers,
and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday,
Mar. 30, 2000, in Nephi LDS 1st Ward, 222 South 100 East.
Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the
Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North and at the
church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the
Vine Bluff Cemetery Nephi, Utah.
