Wallace Rex Kay
1931 ~ 2021

Wallace Rex Kay died quietly on his 90th birthday, February 19, 2021, after a peaceful afternoon with the love of his life, Gaye Ellertson Kay, who had been by his side for over 70 years.

Wallace was born February 19, 1931 in Mona, Utah to James Loras Kay and Ada Rosetta Searle Kay. He grew up on the family farm and learned to love farming and operating equipment. After graduating from Juab High School he married his sweetheart, Alta Gaye Ellertson on November 10, 1950. They started their married life in their home town, Mona, Utah, around family and friends. Wallace farmed and worked for several companies before starting his own excavating business. He could operate a bulldozer as good as anyone in the industry. After 40 years in business, he retired to his farm and gained a love for travel and spending time with his friends and his sweetheart Gaye.

But, more than anything he was a devoted father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them camping, herding cattle, farming, and family parties. With his fun spirit and kind heart he was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Survived by his beloved companion, Alta Gaye Ellertson Kay and their 6 children and spouses: Terry (Cheryl) Kay, Richard (Lucinda) Kay, Tonya (Patrick) Painter, Blair (JaNae) Kay, Mark (Jamie) Kay, Drew (Charlotte) Kay; 32 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Loras and Ada Kay; 2 sisters and 1 brother, Iris Bonvie, Myrtle Vest, Elmo Kay, and 1 grandson, Bobbie Arlin Stephensen.

The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to the doctors and staff at Central Valley Medical Center, Laurel Groves Assisted Living Center and hospice nurses. They are also grateful to his children and spouses for 6 years of loving care after a serious stroke.

Family funeral services will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021. Interment will follow in the Mona City Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Anderson’s Funeral Home, Nephi, Utah.

Janet Stuart
1939 ~ 2021

Janet Westring Wright Stuart, 81, completed her earthly mission Monday, February 15, 2021, following a 12-year battle with mantle cell lymphoma. Her prayers and those of her family were answered as she was released peacefully to return with honor to a loving Father in Heaven. She was surrounded by her three daughters at the time of her passing.

Janet was born March 19, 1939 in Payson, Utah to Raymond Theadore (Theo) and Jean Dixon Westring (both deceased). Janet shared her happy childhood in Nephi, Utah, with three siblings: her sisters Renae (deceased husband David Mangelson) and Colleen (deceased husband Harold Allen, current husband Cooper Jones), and her brother Jerry (Sandra) Westring. Many treasured memories were made during countless activities with extended family and gathering for regular Sunday dinner at Grandma Dixon’s with all the cousins.

She graduated from Juab High School in May 1957, where she was blessed to find cherished girlfriends that remained close throughout her life, delighting in the many dances, school and church activities.

Janet fell in love with Lynn Larsen Wright, after he returned from his LDS mission. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 27, 1958 and made their home in Nephi, Utah. Their eternal family has been blessed with five children: Lee Lynn (Teh Sook) Wright, Julie Wright (William Leigh), Nathan Todd Wright, Sonya Wright (Ward), and Mareah Wright (Justin Archibald); 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. Her family cherishes a lifetime of gathering for delicious homemade meals – made from scratch with love. Mom nourished us with both food and faithful family prayer around that table. She shared her talents and taught us and others how to can fruits and vegetables fresh from the garden.

During some challenging years as Nephi’s economy was affected by the new 1-15 freeway, Lynn and Janet moved with their youngest daughters to San Diego, California for several years, then lived another three years in Moab, Utah. Janet adapted to each obstacle and became part of every community. Many lasting relationships were made during those precious years away from beloved Nephi.

She was an excellent seamstress, well known for her talent. She spent years sewing for her family and made a living sewing for many in the community. She would sew dance recital costumes along with cheerleading and Provita uniforms for Juab High School.

Janet was known for her work ethic and held down multiple jobs throughout her life. She taught her children, by example, the value of hard work. She always had a positive spirit, making work fun. She lifted those around her, encouraging and serving all she met.

Janet was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully accepted every calling extended to her in her ward and stake. She loved the temple. When her hands were not occupied by work they were busy hand-stitching temple aprons for ALL her children and grandchildren.

Janet and Lynn were married for 29 years before his death in August 1987. On September 28, 1991, Janet married Russell Kay Stuart, for time, in the Manti LDS Temple. They enjoyed 26 happy years together, spending time together and with family, traveling, going to BYU football and basketball games, and being down at the farm. She was blessed with 4 stepchildren: Becky Lynn Stuart (Frank Eliason), Robert Gregory (Glenna) Stuart, Dennis J. Stuart (deceased wife Becky), Janice Stuart (Paul Gregory); 20 step-grandchildren, 39 step-great-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren each of whom she loved as her own.

The family would like to thank Cedar City Intermountain Home Health. Special thanks to Drs. Wallentine and Rosenbeck and staff for their loving care throughout the years.

A family funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22 in the Nephi 4th and 5th Ward Building. Interment will be at the Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1200 North 400 East, Nephi, following the funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to Anderson Funeral Home.

Ramona Bendixen Hoyt Wilson
1929 ~ 2021

Ramona Naomi Bendixen Hoyt Wilson, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, 91, unexpectedly graduated to a better life Friday evening February 19, 2021. Mom was born Dec. 22, 1929 in Mills, Utah, a very small farming community in Juab County. She was born to goodly parents, James Embro and Sarah Winter Bendixen, who taught her how much her Savior and Heavenly Father love each one of us. When Mom prayed, you could feel her love of, and faith in Them.

The small home that Mom was born in was made of railroad ties. Because it was located on a small hill, it could not be connected to Mill’s culinary water system. Mom enjoyed riding with her father in a horse-drawn wagon, to get their water from the Sevier River in wooden barrels. Mom learned at an early age that to survive it was necessary to work together as a family in the home and on the farm. Mom was known for her work ethic. She taught us by her example, the value of hard work. She was a great example of self-reliance and independence. After living in Mills for a few years, the family moved to the Salt Creek ranch, several miles south of Levan. Two years later, they purchased a home and small farm in Levan.

Mom married Kenneth James Hoyt on June 21, 1948. They lived in Nephi when their 1st son, Terry, was born. Dad was called back into the Navy during the Korean War, and the 3 of them moved to Stockton, CA for about a year. After which, they moved back to Nephi, until shortly after the birth of their 2nd son, Mark. They then moved to Levan; where they lived when their 3rd son, Dennis, and 2 daughters, Ramona Lisa and Rebecca Lea, were born. Mom and Dad were divorced in 1971. Mom married Ralph Glen Wilson on May 20, 1972. They were divorced in 2015.

Mom did not have much in the way of worldly wealth in this life. However, because of her example and loving teaching, she could say, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” (3 John 1:4). Mom’s life was one of sacrifice and service to others. We are comforted at her passing in knowing that “sacrifice brings forth the blessings of Heaven.” We know Mom is enjoying a great reunion with her parents, sisters (Cleo Garrard and Eunice Lindhardt) and brothers (Leo and Warren), extended family, and friends. Many treasured memories were made during countless activities with extended family. Mom also loved her neighbors, and they loved her.

Mom greatly valued her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her 5 years of service as an ordinance worker in the Manti Temple. She was a teacher in the Sunday School, Relief Society, and MIA. She was a counselor in the Ward and Stake MIA Presidencies. Mom loved music. She played the piano at home, and was Primary or Ward Chorister from age 14 to age 80. Mom had many talents. She could budget better than most, providing for herself and her 5 growing children on a meager monthly amount for many years, out of necessity. She wanted to be a nurse, and her 3 young sons’ accidents gave her many opportunities to develop her nursing skills. She used these skills later in life while caring for her younger daughter and her mother for many years.

Mom is survived by her 5 children: Terry (Nancy), Mark (Lorna), Dennis (May), Lisa York, Becky (Joe) Christensen; 12 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, in person attendance will be limited to family for the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 27th located at the Church on 8171 S. Jackson St. (250 W.) Midvale. Please go to www.goffmortuary.com for funeral services streaming information.

Ramona requested in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Church Missionary Fund.
