  • Lady Wasps notch co-region championship, get number one seed


REGION CHAMPS • The JHS girl’s basketball team tied for 1st place in Region 14 with Carbon and Union and after a coin toss, they were seeded in the number one spot.
They finished with a 10-2 region record, 15-6 overall. They will play Grand County at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 16 at Wasatch High School.

The Lady Wasps basketball team was crowned co-region champions along with Union and Carbon last week. Juab won the coin toss to determine seeding and will enter this week’s start of the state tournament in the number one spot.

Last week they took on Maeser Prep and Delta.

The team played a dominant game against the Lions on Tuesday. They handily won the game 54-10. Seniors Hannah Robins and McKaizlee Cowan were recognized before the game.

Robins was the lead scorer with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Bayli Heap had 9 points, 3 rebounds and 5 steals. Kaelee Love and Willow Kay each contributed 7 points.


Juab started off 14-3 in the first quarter and extended the lead to 24-8 at the half. By the end of the game, Juab had put up 40 points to Delta’s 23.

Robins led the team with 10 points. Heap contributed 9 points, and Love, Kay and Cowan each had 6 points.


The team will play in the 1st round of state on Friday, February 16 at 1:30 pm against Grand County. The game will be held at Wasatch High School in Heber City.
