Graham H. Misbach
1929-2010
Graham H. Misbach, 80, of Levan passed away at home on Saturday, February 6, 2010 after a battle with cancer. He was born October 8, 1929 in Mankato, MN to Raymond A. Misbach and Mayma E. Lemmon.
He served an LDS mission to Northern California from 1950-52. He then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-56 and served in the reserves for 11 years as an LDS chaplain and retired with the rank of Major. He received Master’s degrees from Brigham Young University and Humboldt State University.
He married Colleen L. Mortensen in 1987 and together they served 5 LDS missions abroad. He enjoyed serving others and had many different callings in the LDS church.
He is survived by his wife Colleen; twin brother Grant; sister Myrna; nine children from his first marriage; four stepchildren and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Levan First Ward Chapel, 25 North 100 East, Levan, Utah. Interment in the Levan Town Cemetery with military honors. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
Jean Yvonne Flowers
1945-2010
Jean Yvonne Flowers, 64, of Henderson, NV returned home to her Heavenly Father on February 11, 2010, surrounded by family following a courageous two year battle with brain cancer. Jean was born August 9, 1945 in San Diego, CA to Richard Arthur Barlow and Suzanne Yvonne Barlow. She married Terry Austin Flowers on May 9, 1965 in Las Vegas, NV and they were sealed for time and eternity in the St. George Temple on October 19, 1985.
Jean graduated from Basic High School in Henderson and worked as a child care provider and homemaker for many years.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. She loved children and her favorite calling was teaching the primary children and leading them in music.
Jean was a devoted wife and mother with many gifts, but the one that brought her the most joy was giving to those in need. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She had a contagious smile and brought joy to everyone she came in contact with.
Jean is survived by her husband, Terry Flowers of Henderson; two sons, Shane (Andrea) Flowers of Santaquin, UT and Brandon (Tana) Flowers of Henderson, NV; four daughters, April (Mike) Flickinger of Nephi, UT, Shelly (Kirt) Wilkerson of Springville, UT, Amy (Ken) Weast of Henderson, NV, Stephanie (Jeremy) Walker of Lehi, UT; four brothers, Gary (Henderson, NV), Steve (Woodland, CA), Jon (Las Vegas, NV), Greg (Henderson, NV); two sisters, Joyce Pullen (Star, Idaho), Christy DeHart (Las Vegas, NV); 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the medical team who did such a wonderful job in keeping her comfortable. In particular, we would like to thank Dr. Rupesh Parikh and his staff for their compassion, love and support.
A viewing was held at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV on Monday, February 15th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services were Tuesday, February 16th at 11 a.m. at the Henderson Nevada Black Mountain Stake Center, 801 Arrowhead Trail, Henderson, NV. A viewing was also held from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. preceding the funeral services. Her body will be laid to rest at the Palm Mortuary & Cemetery in Henderson, NV. |
