- Burglars strike over weekend, targets include Reamington Safes
|

BURGLED SAFE • This is one of two safes that were tipped on their sides over the weekend in Nephi. These safes have a defect in the lock that springs open when the safes are pushed over on their sides. If you have one contact the dealer where you bought it for a replacement or repair.
Nephi City Police reported two burglaries in the southwest part of Nephi over the weekend.
Both break-ins involved Remington safes sold by Liberty Safe and were purchased in Payson. Officer Bruce Beal reports that the safes pop open when pushed over on their sides.
Anyone who has these safes should be extra careful about storing any valuable property in them and should contact the dealer where they were purchased about possible fixes for the problem. Liberty Safe on Monday said that it was a lock problem and they will fix or replace the safes.
Officer Beal invites owners of these safes to contact him through the Nephi City Police Department if you have had any problems with these units or with any suspicious activity in your area. You can call Nephi City Police at 623-1626. |
