City Park Bowery

The city park bowery was taken down on purpose and is
not a victim of heavy snow, though it might have been at
some point in the future.
The beams holding up the roof structure were weak and
needed to be replaced.
"There have been several questions from the public
about the condition of the roof on the large bowery at the
city park," said Randy McKnight, city administrator.
"The demolition of the roof is intentional," he
said.
What can be seen hanging down and laying on the picnic
tables is a light-weight material called Cellutex, a fiber
board material, and will not damage the tables.
The bowery has been there for decades and needed to be
repaired, said McKnight.
"The project is a joint venture," said McKnight.
"After the removal of the old roof is completed, the Nephi
Lion's Club will place a new roof structure over the
bowery."
That work will proceed when the weather improves, said
McKnight.
