Marie Cowan
Alzada Marie Russell Cowan, age 80, passed away
February 1, 2004 in Goshen, Utah.
he was born February 3, 1923 in Eureka, Utah to Elisha
Edmund and Hazel Dean Golden Russell. She married Owen
Albert Cowan on June 13, 1942 in Fort Lewis, Washington.
Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
He passed away March 8, 1998.
She graduated from Juab High School. Marie was a
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
and served in many callings, including Primary, Provo Temple
worker and a mission with her husband to the Tennessee
Nashville Mission. She worked in the defense industry during
WWII. She lived in Spring Lake, Nephi, Orem and Goshen.
She is survived by one son, John (Teresa) Cowan of
Mount Airy, North Carolina; three daughters, Ann Wilson of
Goshen, Sheryl (Jim) Smith of Salt Lake City, and Carol
(Paul ) Houghton of Abilene, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 11
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two
brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday,
February 5, 2004 in the Goshen LDS Chapel. Friends may call
Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Goshen Ward and one
hour to the services. Interment will be in Vine Bluff
Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
Bernice Judd
Mary Bernice Blackett Judd, age 90, passed away January
30, 2004 at her home in Nephi, Utah. She was born July 6,
1913 in Scipio, Utah, to Robert LeRoy and Augusta Hansen
Blackett. She was later raised by her Aunt Elsie and Uncle
Del Ward. She married Robert Leslie Judd March 21, 1934.
Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS
Temple.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; son, George
Richard (Martha) Judd; 6 grandchildren; and 16
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son,
Robert K. Judd; brothers, Monte, Morris, and Clead
Blackett.
Graveside services were held February 3, 2004 in Vine
Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
