Juab County Commissioners learned that they must have an
official definition of the property inside the borders of
Juab County in order for the property description of the
Juab County Special Service District for fire protection to
be legally recorded.
David Leavitt, Juab County attorney, read the lengthy
description for commissioners who tried to follow the
description on a map posted on the wall of the commission
chambers. Following the reading, commissioners voted
unanimously to adopt the resolution amending the one
previously adopted.
"The first resolution failed to state with sufficient
particularity the boundaries of the fire district," said
Leavitt. "Since the special service district for fire
protection was intended to cover all of the geographic area
of the county, including the municipalities of the county,
the resolution must be amended to include a detailed
property description."
Leavitt said Craig Sperry, county recorder, pointed
out that the description needed to be more specific for
filing of the document.
"It is just one more step completed in making certain
the fire district is legally recognized," said Leavitt.
