Council assignments for Mona will remain the same this coming year.
"Three of us only have one year left on the council and there is no sense in upsetting the apple cart," said Greg Newton, mayor.
Newton, whose term expires on January 1, 2018, is over the budget building inspections/new construction, economic development, personnel and the Six County Representative.
Jonathan Jones, city council member whose term expires in 2020 is over sewer, water and planning and zoning.
Jeff Hearty, council member, whose term also expires in 2020, is over natural gas, Juab Rural Development, Economic Development and is the Juab County liaison.
Katrina Long, city council member whose term expires in 2020, is over parks, the cemetery, the city office, recreation and celebrations.
Molli Graham, city council member, whose term expires in 2018, is over the cemetery, beautification and planning and zoning.
Jeff Smith, city council member whose term expires in 2018, is over electrical, public safety and roads.
"I will also re-appoint all of the city employees," said Newton.
Those employees are: building official/building inspector, Verl Wilkey; cemetery sexton, Lorna Squire; Mona CIty Recorder, Lyla Spencer; Mona Director of Finance, Everd Squire; parks superintendent, Casey Sutherland, planning commission chair, Lynn Ingram; planning commission secretary, Sara Samuelson; Mona Secretary/Treasurer, Michelle Dalton; water operator, Allen Pay, and Richard Hatfield, city engineer.
Planning Commission members are: Lynn Ingram, Chair; Ed Newton, Mike Stringer, Richard Hatfield and Frank Riding. The commission secretary is Sara Samuelson.
"We will need to make one change on the planning and zoning commission," said Newton. "We will need to replace Richard Hatfield because he cannot hold the duel positions of being on planning and zoning and being the city engineer."
Newton said that he would accept nominations from the planning commission chairman and from the council members who represented the city on the commission.
"Planning and zoning is getting to be more and more important," said Newton.
