Clay Springs fire in Millard County "stinks up the place" with smoke. As of the fourth of July, the fire had burned 99,671 acres and injured two people. Cost of fighting the fire was estimated at $6.1 million.

Prosecutors in Charlton shooting case request judge to reconsider lesser charges. The county attorney filed a request to let Charlton stand trial for lesser charges in the shooting death of his younger brother, Cameron. He would plead guilty to the lesser charge of Class A misdemeanor of negligent homicide, Class B misdemeanor carrying a weapon while under the influence of alcohol.
