NEW YEAR'S BABY • Drake Sessions is the first baby of 2012 born in Juab County. He is the son of Jeff and Jessica Sessions of Nephi.

The first baby to be born in Juab County in 2012 arrived one day after his due date and one day after the New Year began. "Even though we always hope a baby is born on January 1st, we have learned that babies come when they are ready," commented Heidi Kelso, Marketing Director at Central Valley Medical Center.
New Year's day or not, a healthy baby boy, Drake M. Sessions, arrived on Monday, January 2, at 5:26 p.m. and weighed in at 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 22 1/4 inches long. His parents are Jeff and Jessica Sessions, of Nephi.
"This is always a fun time to have a baby. The staff get excited about the contest and love to participate in anyway they can to make it a special event," noted Rachelle Benson, RN, Labor and Delivery Coordinator. The hospital donated a case of diapers, formula, wipes, lotion, and various other baby supplies, along with a $400 discount on the hospital bill.
