GIRL SCOUT COOKIES • Local Girl Scouts are currently taking orders. If you are missed, call Mariann at 623-0527 or Rebecca at 623-1037. Orders end February 3.

The 2008 lineup includes the debut of two new cookie varieties: Lemon Chalet Cremes™, a vanilla sandwich cookie with a zesty filling; and Sugar Free Chocolate Chips, a reinvented classic. This year’s sale also includes traditional favorites: Thin Mints, Samoas®, Do-Si-Dos®, Tagalongs®, Trefoils, and All Abouts.
Girl Scouts statewide will be taking orders for cookies from Saturday, January 19, and continue through Sunday, February 3. (The public gets a second chance at cookie-buying in March, when girls will be selling from Cookie Booths set up at local businesses.)
Over 4,000 registered Girl Scouts, ages 7 to 17. Participation in the cookie program is voluntary, and not all registered Girl Scouts will be involved. This year, an estimated 75% of eligible Utah Girl Scouts will be participating in cookie sales.
Girl Scout Cookies are an icon of American culture, and the centerpiece of the nation’s premier financial literacy and entrepreneurship program for girls. Girl Scout cookie sales began as a troop service project in 1917. Over the years it has evolved into a multifaceted program where girls learn about leadership, teamwork, and goal-setting, as well as develop real-life financial and public speaking skills. Every box of cookies sold directly benefits Girl Scouts in the local community.
