Derle R. Hansen
1919-2008
Derle Radford Hansen, age 88, passed away January 11, 2008 at St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born January 17, 1919 in Fountain Green, Utah, to Alfred A. and Caroline Hansen. He married Carol Francis Jackman December 26, 1953.
He is survived by his children, Kristy (Del) Wright; Kathy (Odis) Price; Mark Green; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Carol; son, Terry; and parents.
He loved getting up everyday and walking down the road to have breakfast with his friends at the local McDonalds. He enjoyed his garden and canning his crops and sharing them with his whole family. He will be dearly missed by all who shared his life. He served in the Army during WWII.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the Levan Cemetery. Friends may call at the Levan LDS church one hour prior to the services. Funeral directors, Anderson Funeral Home, Nephi, UT.
Norma C. Pay
1914-2008
Norma Crowther Pay, age 93, passed away January 9, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family in Nephi, Utah.
She was born, July 7, 1914 in Perry, Utah, to Thomas Carless and Emma Rebecca Holland Crowther. She married Richard Raymond Pay, November 16, 1932 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died July 23, 2003.
She was an active member of the LDS church. She taught primary for many years and helped organize the first Sunday School library in the Juab Stake. She was a member of the Women’s Federated Club and the Ladies Literary League.
She was a loving mother and homemaker. She was a beautiful seamstress and loved to crochet. She loved watching the Utah Jazz. She enjoyed having her family come, especially for the Ute Stampede.
She is survived by her three children, Arlene (LaVell) Hone of Santaquin, UT; Cliff (DeAnn) Pay of Woods Cross, UT; Becky (Keith) Sperry of Nephi, UT; 10 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, and 2 brothers.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008 in the Nephi 3rd Ward, 345 E. 500 N. Interment in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
The family wishes to thank Tiffany and Jana for their loving hospice care.
Ronald L. Alloway
1936-2008
Ronald Lee Alloway, age 71, passed away Friday, January 11, 2008 in Delta, Utah. He was born in Wheatland, Wyoming, on May 12, 1936 to Howard B. and Ona M. Bartelson Alloway. He married Ann Ekker on January 31, 1958 in Richfield, Utah.
Through many challenging health problems he maintained a sense of humor, and an optimistic outlook. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He had a great love for the outdoors and excelled at ranching and farming. A couple of his favorite hobbies were prospecting and mining. He will be missed greatly, but his memory will always be with us.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Alloway of Delta; children, Kurt L. (Gail) Alloway of Tooele, Kim A. (Michael) Terril of Delta; brother, Warren Alloway of Silverthorne, CO; sister, Virginia Capron of Greybull, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ona Alloway.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Sutherland Ward LDS Church. Friends may call Wednesday evening at the Nickle Mortuary from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Thursday morning at the church, 9:30-10:40 a.m. Burial will be in the Sutherland Cemetery.
