Laureen "Laurie" Keyte
1952-2007
Laureen "Laurie" Janice Keyte passed away January 27,
2007 in Provo, Utah.
Laurie was born October 5, 1954 in Inglewood, CA. to
Raymond Michael and Evelyn Teresa Gross Cady. She married
Graig Eugene Keyte on February 7, 1976 in Las Vegas,
Nevada.
Laurie was very devoted to her family and friends. She
was the first one to do anything she could to help someone
in need. She had a love of plants and the evidence of her
green thumb is seen throughout her house in her many plants.
Her animals loved her, and rarely could she be found without
a cat or two on her lap and her dog by her side.
Laurie is survived by her husband, Graig Keyte of
Nephi; her daughter, Jennifer (Tarius) Wright of Eagle
Mountain, UT; sons, Graig Keyte, Jr. of Hollywood, CA; Sky
Keyte of Nephi, UT; brothers, Raymond Cady of Edmond OK;
David Cady of Placentia, CA; sister, Teresa Dunham of
Riverside, CA; three grandchildren; Preceded in death by her
father and mother.
A memorial service will be held Saturday,
February 3, 2007 in the Nephi 5th Ward, 345 East 500
North at 11 a.m. All friends and family are invited.
Rita Lynn Kay
1948-2007
Rita Lynn Kay passed away January 27, 2007 at her home
in Nephi, Utah, after a long illness.
She was born January 25, 1948 in Payson, Utah, to
David A and Madge Christensen Otteson. She married Rex
G.Kay, January 13, 1968. They were later divorced.
She was a Drum Majorette in the Juab High School band
and was a member of the ProVita. She worked at Ray's Cafe,
Utah American sewing plant and Walker's. She was the Tribune
and Deseret News supervisor for Juab and Sanpete counties.
She was a member of the LDS Church.
She is survived by three children, Jason R. (Tina)
Kay, Nephi; Aleeca Kay (Kerry) Graves, Mulberry Florida; and
Sharinda Kay, Salt Lake City, Utah; grandson Kauner Kay of
Nephi; mother Madge Otteson, Nephi; two sisters and one
brother, Marilyn Stephensen, Payson, Kirk D. Otteson, Nephi
and LynNae (Rick) Evans, Parowan, Utah and many nieces and
nephews.
In compliance to her wishes there will be no viewing
or funeral. A family memorial was held on Monday, January
29, 2007.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped in
any way during her illness. A special thank to Tina Kay for
her love and care during Rita Lynn's illness.
Nancy Kirkpatrick
1943-2007
Nancy Lorainne Collard Palmer Kirkpatrick
9/8/1943-01/28/2007. Our most beautiful beloved mother,
grandmother, wife, sister, and daughter, lost her battle to
cancer and has returned to her Heavenly Father.
Nancy was born to Victor LeGrande and Merlene
Christensen Collard in Moroni, Ut. on September 8, 1943. She
married Clare Palmer on April 9, 1963. Together they had two
children, and later divorced.
On December 27, 1982, she married the love of her
life, Howard Chad Kirkpatrick. They shared a life of love
and sheer happiness. After retiring, they were able to
travel numerous places, fish, and enjoy each other's
company.
Survived by her mother Merlene Collard of Nephi,
loving husband Chad of West Jordan; children, Marty (Kandas)
Palmer of Nephi, Jackie (Abbas) Hadjnorouzi of Sandy, Wade
(Debbie) Kirkpatrick of Elko, NV, Con (Kathy) Kirkpatrick of
West Jordan; brother, Dean (Katie) Collard of Monticello;
sisters, Kathleen (Dave) Johnson of Midvale. Ina Crisman of
Springfield, MO, Marsha Hone of Grand Junction, CO; 14
beautiful grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and
friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday,
February 1, 2007 at the Mountain Shadows 4th ward, 8136 S.
Old Bingham Hwy. West Jordan, UT. Viewing will be Wednesday,
January 31, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Estates Redwood,
6500 S Redwood Rd. West Jordan, UT., and one hour prior to

David Mecham
1922-2007
Charles David Mecham, age 84, passed away January 28,
2007 in American Fork, Utah.
He was born November 6, 1922 in Nephi, Utah, to Elam
and Josephine Crosby Mecham. He was raised by his foster
parents, Robert P. and Erma Jones Garrett.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-Day Saints. He served an LDS mission. He served in
the U.S. Army during WWII. He will be greatly missed by his
family and friends.
He is survived by three foster sisters and one foster
brother, Lucy Sanders, Afton Lambert, Corrine Garrett, and
R. Ross Garrett all of Nephi; sister-in-law Ellen Taylor of
Payson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death
by his parents, foster parents; three brothers, Joe, Bill,
and Hyrum Mecham; two sisters, Jessie Eller and Clare
Parker.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday,
February 1, 2007 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300
North Nephi, UT. Friends may call Thursday prior to the
services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Nephi
City Cemetery..
