Joreen Carter
1929-2007
Joreen Sperry Carter, age 77, passed away on Thursday,
January 18, 2007 in Nephi, Utah.
She was born to Arvel Leroy and Susan Eva Park Sperry
on March 26, 1929. She married Mondell Carter of Mona on
December 25, 1958 in Ely, Nevada.
Joreen touched the lives of countless souls, bringing
security, self-worth, and happiness to each of them.
Joreen's love and laughter will be truly missed by her
extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband,
Mondell; 3 brothers, Milt, Duane, Bruce; and a sister,
SuzAnne.
A viewing was held at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94
West 300 North, Nephi, Utah on Sunday, January 21, 2007.
Family graveside services were held Monday, January 22, 2007
at 11:00 a.m., in the Mona Cemetery, where she will be laid
to rest with her dear husband.
Cleo F. Smith
1916-2007
Cleo Fullmer Nelson Smith, 90, passed away January 19,
2007 of natural causes. She was born July 18, 1916 in
Abraham, Utah, to Evah Mattinson and Robert Fullmer. She
married Clyde A. Nelson in 1934 and he preceded her in death
in 1955. In 1959 she married Byron L. Smith and they later
divorced. She was then sealed to Clyde in the Mt. Timpanogos
Temple. Cleo enjoyed doing many hand crafts and loved to
watch out the window at the birds and the flowers. She
collected many things that were important to her. No one
made home-made rolls like her. She was a proud member of the
Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She had twelve children, nine who survive her; Bernice
(Jay) Jackson, Neal (Kathy) Nelson, Harold (Connie,
deceased) Nelson, Karen (Bill Cox, deceased) Roberts, Gordon
(Ann) Nelson, Starla (Don) Keele, Tami McDaniel, Melanie
(Blaine) Jacobson, Mary (Michael) Hamlin. She is also
survived by a brother, Maynard (Roma) Fullmer and a sister,
Edna (Delbert) Harvey. She was a very loving grandmother of
41 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren and 28
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
three children, twin infant daughters, and an infant son,
Robert Nelson; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild, five
sisters and a brother.
The family would like to thank those who provided
special care at Heritage Care Center and Harmony
Hospice.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 24, 2007
at 12:00 noon in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49
East 100 North, American Fork, where friends may call one
hour prior to services. Burial, Provo City Cemetery.

Elizabeth (Betty) B. Williams
1939-2007
Betty Williams passed away Wednesday, January 17,
2007, at her home in Layton, Utah, after a valiant battle
with cancer at the age of 67. She was born in Salt Lake
City, UT to Dr. Francis Hamilton and Edith Belliston
Beckstead on December 11, 1939. She graduated from Juab High
School in 1958.
She married Louis Arlo Williams on May 24, 1958 in Las
Vegas, Nevada. They were later sealed for time and all
eternity in the Manti Temple. They were devoted companions
for 48 years enjoying traveling after their retirement.
Together they served a church employment mission in Brigham
City from 1999 to 2000.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities on both
the ward and stake levels including Stake missionary,
Primary President, Relief Society President and ward choir
director. She was founder and director of "Musicality," a
women's singing group performing for civic groups, nursing
homes, church groups and private parties. She also sang with
"Hills of Home Singers," a women's community choir that
traveled to Europe to perform in folk festivals in 1992.
She was employed for over 20 years with American
Greetings as a merchandiser. She had also worked in the
school lunch system, for the Ogden Standard Examiner and
with Box Elder County Clerk's office.
Surviving are her loving husband, Arlo; two sons, Chet
(Jeanette) Williams, Clinton, Utah, and Cody Williams,
Brigham City, Utah; two daughters, Wendy (Corey) Orme, Fruit
Heights, Utah, and Melanie (Brad) McMillan, Mesa, Arizona;
eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, with two
expected this year; and two brothers, Dr. Robert (Doris)
Beckstead and Marriner (Jean) Beckstead.
She was preceded in death by a son Adam Williams, her
parents, a sister, Marilyn and brother, George.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 22, 2007 at
11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No.
Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. Interment, Vine Bluff
Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
The family would like to express appreciation to Vista
Care Hospice, particularly Nicole and Brandy, and Dr.
Johnson and staff at Utah Hematology Oncology for their
loving care.
