A public hearing will be held to take comment on Deer
Acres subdivision.
Deer Acres, Plat B, would be for further development of
the property owned by Wes Lynn where he built his home on a
one-lot subdivision, Deer Acres, Plat A.
The hearing is planned for the 2nd Wednesday of February,
on the 14th.
Since that date is the night of Valentines Day, the
meeting may be changed before that time. Residents who are
interested in attending should watch the legal notices
section of the newspaper.
"When the documents were submitted for review for final
plat approval," said Randy McKnight, Nephi City
administrator, "the planning commission noted that there was
a need for a public hearing before final approval can be
recommended."
The subdivision is east of the freeway and north of
Canyon Hills Golf Course, said McKnight.
Nine lots are proposed for residential development.
Comments had been directed from the city review committee
to the planning commission. Those concerns will be
addressed.
The new subdivision would line up with the Bart Jackson
home across the roadway leading around the golf course but
would be on the north side of the street.
"The planning commission gave preliminary approval to the
subdivision and the council also gave their preliminary
approval," said McKnight.
However, a change in state law now mandates that a public
hearing be held by the planning commission.
When the planning commission voted on action, it was
approved with Wes Lynn, a member of the commission,
abstaining.
