Rick Davis
1959-2006

Rick Davis, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 in Nephi, Utah. Rick was born on December 7, 1959 in Tooele, Utah, the son of Lee Davis Sr. and Mable Grey. Rick married Delores Spencer in 1982 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. They later divorced.

Rick loved fishing, yard work and animals. He loved to cook, especially breakfast and outdoor barbecues. He enjoyed watching wrestling and football, his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. Rick loved spending time with his children. He loved to be around people and people loved to be around him. We will always remember his wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his children: Valerie Davis, Cedar City, Eric Davis and Jordan Davis of Manti; his mother Mable Davis, Page, AZ; sisters, Loretta Cropper, Deseret, UT, Gail Begaye, Overton, NV, Sandy Davis, Richfield, UT, Vickie Davis, Page, AZ; brothers, Jim Davis, Page, AZ, Lee Davis, Jr, Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his father and 4 brothers, Bob, John, Leo and Ron Davis.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Stake Center located at 400 East 1100 North, Nephi, Utah. Online condolences may be submitted to www.serenicare.com.


Mark Robins
1919-2006

Scipio: Our dear father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great-grandfather, Mark Robins passed away December 29, 2006 in the Fillmore Hospital surrounded by his family.

Mark was born January 29, 1919 in Scipio, UT, to Coquella Memmott he was later adopted and raised by Coniston Douglas and Hettie Memmott Robins. Mark graduated from Millard High School where he played trumpet in the High School Band. He married Florence Memmott on August 28, 1940 in Fillmore, UT, later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on December 5, 1959.

Florence passed away on March 1, 2004.

Mark served in the Army during WWII and was stationed in the Philippines. He was called upon to play the trumpet while in the Army to entertain and boost morale of his fellow troops.

Mark was a member of the LDS Church. He loved to sing in the ward choir, was a dedicated home teacher and served as a High Priest Secretary, was in the Elders Quorum Presidency, was an Ordinance Worker at the Manti Temple with his wife and served as a Stake Missionary.

He was a member of the Fillmore Hospital Board and a member of the Scipio Town Council. He was a farmer, was the shed foreman for UDOT in Scipio, worked as a foreman at the Nephi Turkey Processing Facility.

Dad learned to love farming. He loved having his children and grandchildren come to visit and teaching them about nature and taking them around the farm.

Mark loved to listen to and play music from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to Louis Armstrong.

Mark and his wife Florence loved the Utah Jazz, whether they were winning or not.

Mark is survived by his 3 children, Douglas Mark (Lynne) Robins, Roosevelt, UT; Elizabeth "Betty" (Craig) Bartholomew, Fillmore, UT; Jolene (Scott) Memmott, Spanish Fork, UT; 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Ann DeJong, Richland, WA; Ethel Topley, Billings, MT; Margaret (Rex) Hill, Bennion, UT; Seth (Arlene) McPherson, Nephi, UT; Tom (Dona) McPherson, Nephi, UT; Edith (Nilan) Pickering, Nephi, UT; sister-in-law, Edith Monroe, Nephi, UT; aunt, Norene Ashman, St. George, UT.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife, son-in-law, Merrill S. Wilding, great-grandson, Hagen Robins, sisters, Florence Lovaas and Colleen Ewell. Funeral services will be held Friday January 5, 2007 at 12:00 noon in the Scipio LDS Chapel.

Friends may call Friday from 10:00- 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.

Interment in the Scipio City Cemetery under the care of Rasmussen Mortuary.

Frank Pew
1921-2007

Walter Franklin Pew was born on Sept. 25, 1921 to Walter Harvey and Anna Jane Pew in Mesa, Arizona. He died January 1, 2007. He married Rowena Kenner on November 19, 1948 in the Manti LDS Temple.

Some of his accomplishments included serving in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed in Panama during WWII. He owned and operated a dairy farm, and a Dairy Queen drive inn. He was a State licensed barber, worked as a car salesman for Painter Motor, and retired from Juab School District. He then worked for Nephi City, taking care of the parks and cemeteries.

Frank was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he held many positions of which included serving in the bishopric for 14 years, and working over 8 years in the Manti Temple.

He was involved with many community projects of which included helping start the Nephi Little League Football program, Nephi's 4th of July carnival at the city park, and Nephi's Credit Union.

He loved his family,that was his pride and joy. He especially loved his wife of 57 years, Rowena. He is survived by his wife,and children, Randy (Carol) of St. George, Craig (Darlene), Walter (Jackie), Clinton (Suzanne), all of Nephi, Wade (Tamara) of Mesa, Arizona, and Penny (Chris) Wilkey of Nephi; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Brothers, Joe Pew of Mesa, Arizona, Gerald Pew of Lehi, and Karl Pew of Nephi. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ned Pew.

He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend.

A viewing will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, Wednesday, Jan. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Jan. 4 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour before funeral services at the Nephi Stake Center.
