Whether he wanted it or not, Neil Cook was reappointed
as county commission chairman at the January 3 meeting.
Fellow commissioners made the motion to keep Cook in the
middle seat for the next year.
The commissioners also decided to keep the individual
assignments the same as last year. They are as follows:
Neil Cook will oversee Class B Roads (Bob Garrett);
Criminal Justice (Jared Eldridge); East Juab Water
Conservancy District (Paul McPherson); Executive Enterprise
Zone; Law Enforcement (Sheriff Alden Orme); Panarama Land;
Six County AOG Board; Six County Economic Board, and Six
County Mental Health Board.
Val Jones will oversee Buildings, Grounds, and Parks
(Bob Day); East Juab Ambulance (Jeana Higginson/Keth South);
Fairboard (Jeff Banks and Chad Winn); JRDA (Landfill and
Natural Gas. Quinton Kay-Mona, Mike Jones-Nephi, Brady
Taylor-Levan); Library Board (Bookmobile); Planning and
Zoning (Glenn Greenhalgh); Recreation District (East Juab);
Six County Public Health Board and West Desert and West Juab
Ambulance.
Robert Steele will oversee Citizens Advisory Council
(Gunnison Correctional Facility); Fairgrounds (Bob Day); Six
County Aging Board; Six County Natural Resources Committee;
Special District #2 (Mineral Lease $); Special District #1
(D.U.P. No Taxing Authority); Weed Board (Bob Garrett) and
Workforce Services.
All three commissioners will oversee Building
Authority (Chair-Bob Steele); Economic Developement (Glenn
Greenhalgh) and Fire District Board.
