![]() LIVING AMERICAN FLAG Nephi Elementary held its 2002 Olympics Program last Thursday, Jan. 24, at the JHS gymnasium. A capacity crowd enjoyed this spectacular event. Singing and dancing to the music of Kurt Bestor, students shared their talents and Olympic spirit with parents and supporters. Cheryl Stephenson directed a 600-student choir dressed in red, white, and blue t-shirts, forming a giant American flag. Sterling scholars instrumental in the success of this performance included: Student directors Justin Ware and Makenzie Warner, who rehearsed students, worked with technicians, and solved problems to make this ambitious undertaking possible. Kevin Packer, who prepared and presented the multimedia portion of the program. Rachelle Wilkey choreographed the dances, Wes Lynn created the decorations, Paul Sperry coached dramatic readings, and Mandy Kay worked as prop manager. Jordan Gould and Autumn Nielson were in charge of publicity. Other sterling scholars, Sarah Gibson, McKenzie Rice, Ray Smalley, Steven Nelson supported the program as ushers, and technicians. Contributors to this event included Nephi Elementary PTA, Ash Grove Cement, Nephi City, and Painter Motor. |
