Harry Duckworth
Harry George Duckworth passed away Jan. 9, 2002. He was
born Feb. 9, 1919, in Nephi, Utah, to George W. and Gertrude
Hewitt Duckworth. He married Carol Ford Oct. 9, 1939, in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He graduated from Juab High School and served in the Navy
during World War II. He owned and managed Fairway Market,
Harry's U Mark, and Harry's Thriftway in Kaysville. He was
active in the community as a member of the Kaysville JC's,
Rotary, City Council, and Board of Directors of Barnes Bank
and Associated Food Stores.
He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as
counselor in the bishopric, and as a missionary with his
wife in the Spokane Washington Mission.
He is survived by his wife; 2 sons, Larry (Susan)
Duckworth of Taylorsville, and Michael (Diane) Duckworth of
Kaysville; 2 daughters, Diane (Hal) Swenson of Farmington,
and Debbie (Gaylen) Sprague of Kaysville; 17 grandchildren;
27 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Florence Parkin and
Trudy Rohletter.
Funeral services were held Jan. 14, 2002, at the
Kaysville Rock Chapel. Interment, Kaysville City
Cemetery.
