Edna Edmunds
Edna Madsen Edmunds passed away at her home in
Moroni, Utah, on her 78th birthday. She was born on Dec. 30,
1923, to Anna Rassmussen and Lauritiz Madsen in Fountain
Green, Utah.
She married Fred James Edmunds on Dec. 31, 1941, in
Pocatello, Idaho. They were the parents of seven sons and
one daughter.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints and served in various church callings. She
retired from the Moroni Processing Plant after 27 years of
service.
She enjoyed music, reading and shopping. She spent many
years at the sheep herd at Soldier Summit, with Fred.
She is survived by children, Phil ( Pauline ) of
Springville, Flora ( Brent ) of Riverton, Tony ( Julie ) and
Clair "Cass" ( Kathaleen ) of Mt. Pleasant, Jeff (Carol ) of
West Valley City, Eva ( Ken ) Olsen of Ephraim; 21
grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Ruth Knight
of West Jordan; 1 brother Alma (Virginia) Madsen of Nephi.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred James Edmunds
Mar. 14, 1990; three sons, Brent James, Kevin Morris and Jon
Barry; six sisters and three brothers; granddaughter Teresa
Ann Edmunds.
A family gathering was held Jan. 3, 2002, at the Fountain
Green LDS Church. Interment in the Fountain Green Cemetery.
Daniel Kostenko
Daniel W. Kostenko passed away in Reno, Nevada, on Dec.
24, 2001, due to cancer. Dan was born in Marysville,
California, Sept. 4, 1930, the second of four children.
Dan attended Placer Union High School in Auburn,
California, where he was an outstanding athlete in both
football and track.
Dan married Margaret Miller in 1956 and moved to Nephi,
Utah in 1969. In 1978 he owned and operated the Colonial
Manor. In 1994 he built, owned and operated Canyon
Hills.
In addition to his wife, Dan was preceded in death by his
stepson, Gregory Miller.
Dan has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his dear friend, Juanita Crawford;
his sister, Katherine Tanson; and brothers, George and Fred
Kostenko, all of Penryn, California.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be
held.
