Hazel Eyre
Hazel Leona Jones Eyre, age 108, passed away Dec. 27,
2001, at the Beaver Valley Long Term Care Center.
She was born Oct. 16, 1893, in Adamsville to Evan E.
and Lucressia Walters Jones. She attended a one room school
for eight years then studied at the Murdock Academy in
Beaver for two years. She married James Alma Eyre on Apr. 8,
1914, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Feb. 3, 1925.
She was the postmistress in Adamsville for 19 years.
She cooked in various cafes in Beaver for 30 years, and
retired at the age of 78. She enjoyed sewing, quilting,
crocheting, and travel. She was active in senior citizens,
Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the LDS Church.
She is survived by three children, James A. (Renee)
Eyre of Minersville, ReVou (Ward) Carter of Cedar City, and
Donald J. (Winagene) Eyre of Nephi; 15 grandchildren; 73
great-grandchildren; 65 great-great-grandchildren; and 1
great-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a
granddaughter, Katherine Casey Carter, and three brothers
and six sisters.
Funeral services were held Dec. 29, 2001, at the
Beaver LDS 4th Ward Chapel. Interment in the Minersville
Cemetery.
Kimberly Blanton
Kimberly Ann Clayson Blanton, age 37, of Nephi, passed
away at her home on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001.
She was born Dec. 22, 1964, in Payson, Utah, a
daughter of Nick Clayson and Darlene Lazenby.
Kim graduated from Payson High School and received an
Associate degree in secretarial from Stevens-Henager
College.
She married Lonny Blanton on Aug. 28, 1983, in
Payson.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters and a
son, Heather Blanton (Marshall) See of Nampa, Idaho, Curtis
(Nicole) Blanton of Nephi; 1 grandson; parents, Nick (Dee)
Clayson of Riverton; brothers, David Chad Leonard of
Santaquin, David Todd (Lori) Clayson; a sister, Jodi
(Branden) Black; a step-brother, Rick (Sharene) Golish; and
grandmother, Myra Lazenby Butler. Kim was preceded in death
by her mother, Darlene Lazenby.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 3, 2001, 12:00
noon, in the Nephi 6th Ward Chapel, 351 North 100 West,
Nephi, Utah, where friends may call 10:30-11:45 a.m. Burial
will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
Owen Sanders
Owen Sanders, age 92, passed away Dec. 24, 2001, at the
Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George.
Owen was a salesman for Scholzen Products for 25 years
and serviced their accounts to many businesses in this area.
He presented many programs in the area and loved to recite
his poems.
Funeral services were held Dec. 28, 2001, in
Hurricane, Utah.
