Dee Willis Yates
Dee Willis Yates died Jan. 22, 2001. He was born Sept. 6,
1930, in Mona, Utah, to Herbert Moroni and Delta Louise
Yates. He married Jeanne Gowers on Aug. 17, 1949.
Dee was a veteran of the Korean War. He helped run the
family plumbing business in Delta until 1968. He then went
to work for Geneva Steel in Orem where he retired in
1993.
He loved old movies. He especially loved raising
horses, training, competing and watching his kids and
grandkids compete at various horse shows, and rodeos.
He is survived by 7 children: 4 sons, Monty (Glenda),
Clyde (Donetta), Wade, and Marlow (Darla); 3 daughters,
Cheryl, Christine (Dick) Christensen, and DeEtte (Scott)
Worthington; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren;
sisters, Lola Wheeter and Blanche Clark. He was preceded in
death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 25, at 11
a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Nephi, Utah. Viewing will be
Wednesday, Jan. 24, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services.
Burial in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
