Three board members were sworn-in at the beginning of Juab School District Board of Education meeting on Wednesday evening.

Those taking the oath of office were Dale Fowkes, Rick Welsh, and Delanie Hathaway. Darrin Clark, district secretary/treasurer, administered the oath of office.

Honored prior to the ceremony was Teresa Menlove who was presented with a golden school bell mounted on a marble base and engraved with her name and years of service.

"We want to thank Terri (Menlove) for her years of dedicated service to the patrons and students of the school district," said Pexton. "She served four complete terms for a total of 16 years."

Menlove accepted the honor from Pexton. "I enjoyed the time I spent on the board," she said.

Fowkes is beginning his fourth term, Hathaway is beginning her second term, and Welsh is beginning his first term.

Julie Smalley is serving her second term and Pexton is serving his fifth term on the board.

Pexton was selected by board members to continue serving as board president by a vote of acclamation after being nominated by Fowkes.

Julie Smalley was chosen as vice-president also by a vote of acclamation. Menlove served in that capacity.

Clark was nominated and selected to continue his position as board business official. He has been the business official for more than three years.

"I would like Rick (Welsh) to represent the district on the Juab County Rural Development Board," said Pexton. Menlove was the representative on that board.
