Mona Town Council set fees for the town for the coming
year as one of the last items of business at Tuesday's
meeting.
The rental fee for reserving the city park is $50. The
deposit fee used to be $40. The rental refund if the park is
left clean by the users remained the same&emdash;$20.
Travel reimbursement paid by the city to those who
travel to do city business was raised from 31 cents per mile
to 32 cents per mile.
A research charge of $9.50 per hour will be charged if
city personnel need to look through the minutes or other
city records for a patron. The fee was, previously, $7.50
per hour. No charge will be made for the first 15
minutes.
An annexation service fee was also added to the fee
schedule for the year. The actual cost of any service
required in order to annex the property will be paid by
those seeking annexation. For example, the fee charged by
the newspaper for posting the necessary public notice will
now be paid by those requesting the annexation.
The fee will be paid to the town and the town will
then pay the newspaper.
The return check fee was increased from $25 per check
to $30 because the banks have increased the cost to the
city. If a person pays the city with a check for utilities,
for example, and the check bounces and is returned to the
city, the city is charged a $30 processing fee. When the
person makes the check good, they must also pay the return
check fee.
When the town uses their attorney, it costs $150 per
hour. That fee will be passed on to those who request
information which must be supplied by the attorney.
A safety disrupt valve, which can be installed on the
natural gas connection, will be $50 per customer.
Other fees were left as they had been last year. These
include cemetery fees, construction fees, dog fees,
licenses, natural gas fees, solid waste pickup and disposal
fees, the standpipe key fee, water fees, and miscellaneous
fees, such as FAX charges which are $1.25 per page.
